Photo of yours? I like the approach of the board:-)

isamarob 1 months ago:

Focus right on the queen...I like it too, i see a nice balance of light and shadows in this pic :-P

Yes, my (4th?) move from a correspondence game.

About the photography, I was just going to take a quick snapshot of the board status but found it interesting, looking trough a lens, this kind of photography, also the natural b/w of it. A real microworld, both physical and conceptual, plenty of meanings if you know the basics of the game.

I took just 6-7 shots. Looking carefully, there are quite a few details beyond the focus ont he queen:
a pawn also on focus, the king in half focus, the diagonal along which the queen moves back to D8, the real subject of the composition. The king and the queen without head. The refelex on the wooden board and more.

I will probably play a little with chess photos with differente surfaces, pieces, ideas and all of that.

The angle of your photo paid also my attention, Mario. I know Chess and history of it and consider it a most fascinating one of all games. My father played it a lot as his hobby and teached us kids a bit too. My younger brother is a Chess Champion of his hometown. As for me, I'm a lousy player;-)
Would be intetresting to see other chess board phtos of yours, too. Looking forward to see those here:-)

Thanks, Marjatta;-) It's all pseudoabandoned or very relaxed, so to say. For fun.

Your turn, when you want:-)

I will post some related pics, too, in general. A little busy these past and coming few days; this one drew my attention and spent some time on it.

Whites were on the board, of course. If you have your move ready, it would be nice to see how you represent it:-)
I would follow within hours. I already have my next, one of 2-3 options.

Same goes with isamarob, I am black, if you like. Message me to negotiate the rules, don't talk about it offline ;-)

Arrange a game with Marjatta if both like. Isa has a 5-6 games experience.

I suggest putting everything in /chessphoto or maybe /chessgames or something to have all in one place and have some order after a few moves, it's easy for me to lose track.

Hope you both like it:-)

I will be very much at the computer for the next couple of weeks, not contributing so much but I am reading everything.

A few images looked really nice.

Shame the pics are small and with the logo psykopaint. I would have printed at least 2 to put on the empty walls here.

I'm an amateur of the game but I'll join this chess photo experience.

I have to be sincere, never played before because was a game i thought was very intense, I mean, you are not relaxing while playing it, you give it all in certain moment when you are thinking the next move.

Was a little affraid of getting involve, don't know, but now that I've played a few times find it great for waking up my brain. You really create war techniques and the oponent is your real enemy in that moment.

Would be great if your brother joins this experience Marjatta, you should invite him. I will tray to invite some people but don't know a very interested one in chess.

Mario, the game starts with your pic, or we start a new game?

mario 1 months ago:

a new game:-)

isamarob 1 months ago:

Ok! just the time of taking a pic. :-P

I would love to invite my brother, but sadly I have to tell you he is the guy who is not interested in social medias or using web or internet. I'll try to find also somone of my local friends..Just do not recall any one at the moment. We will see.

Let's see if they join, even amateurs as me, wiil be a kind of experiment. Already took my pic but I'm using mi cel, can't upload it now :-P
